The Adventures of Figaro
In-School Show

Family friendly The Adventures of Figaro School Tour

Opera Queensland in creative collaboration with Shake & Stir Theatre Co. bring the magic of opera to our youngest fans with an in-school tour to primary schools.

Based on Rossini’s opera The Barber of Seville.

The Adventures of Figaro is a high-energy, colourful riot of sunny-Spanish madness in which three young opera talents sing, dance and act their way through a 50-minute version of Rossini’s much-loved opera, The Barber of Seville.

Directed by the multi-award-winning team of Shake & Stir Theatre Co, this madcap tale follows the lively Figaro as he attempts to help Count Almaviva find the courage, nerve and skills to tell Rosina she has the perfect singing pipes to be in his band!

The Adventures of Figaro is designed for students from Prep to Grade 6 and will be available in Term 3 of 2025 to schools in and around Brisbane. A teacher resource kit will be provided to participating schools and will link the performance to the Queensland Primary School Curriculum. The Adventures of Figaro will tour to regional Queensland in 2026.
