What do vintage lampshades, seductive tunes, twinkling stars, jazz and powerhouse vocals have in common? Studio 4101.
Last Friday and Saturday audiences rolled up to an unexpected sight – an eclectic wonderland of twenties décor, smoky lounge bars, croquet…and the moon (naturally). Studio 4101 was a pop-up space allowing audiences and artists to share in raw theatre experiences, edgy programming and experimental music. Opera Queensland and Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University presented some of the city’s hottest new musical talent, gripping theatre and late night jazz in an experimental, pop-up environment.
“Studio 4101 shows a completely different, more adventurous face of the South Bank neighbourhood – our end of the precinct is all about artists in the studio and the creative process, and that’s what OperaQ and QCGU are celebrating.”
Lindy Hume, Artistic Director – OperaQ
